Cattle & Critters

I Never Met A Cow I Didn’t Like

or any animal for that matter

As Animal Ag producers we take great care of not only our cattle and horses, but ALL animals around our homes. Our family loves pets and as long as I can remember we’ve had some kind of animal underfoot (dogs, cats, ducks, geese, guineas, parakeets, pet raccoons (6 of them) horses, calves, sheep, pigs, hamsters, a pet coyote and goldfish), you name it, we probably had one. My brother was and is just as bad, but with a narrower selection base which usually only contains dogs; big dogs, little dogs, short dogs, red dogs, yellow dogs, black and white dogs.

“Rover’s Nightly Speaking Lesson”

One of my brother’s many dogs. This was an Australian Shepherd/Mix and he taught him to say his name…Rowwwwverrrr. No, I”m not kidding.

I’m not sure who was most neglectedthe dog or the kid…?

“Hamilton”

For the past 40 years Old English Sheepdogs have been a part of my life. Our first puppy was an Australian Shepherd/OES cross. Several years ago I started raising them. This is Hamilton which I raised. Today he is 7 years old and has doubled, maybe tripled-in size. He’s huge.

“Corky”

From the moment my dad brought home a small raccoon when I was 13 I fell in love with Genus Procyon. The male raccoons make great pets. The females are more cantankerous-imagine that.

Sadie “I Wanna Be A Cow Dog but I’m Not” Chain

Sadie is my brother’s dog. She goes everywhere with him. She’s not happy in her own body. She would much rather be a Border Collie…just like a woman. Another feminine trait she possesses—she can’t keep her mouth shut, thus the pickup sequestering.
