Hi, I am trying to do some family research. My dad was James Scribner. My mother was a Chain. Her maiden name was Phylis Chain. Her father Alfred died in the thirties. Her mother’s married name was Stella Chain. My mother’s brother Alfred was in the Army at Fort Sill and used to live at Longdale. Her sister Glenus lives in Enid. Her other sister, Romain lives in California. I was born in Enid. My mother talks about being related to the people that owned the Chain Ranch. I used to go visit the Chains in Longdale when a child in the fifties and remember swimming in Canton Lake. I also remember that there were some relatives named Chain who died in a plane crash. My question is, are we related, and if so how?

Hi, My Great Great Great Grandfather was Hiram Hickok, which means my Great Great Aunt was Laura Hickok. My grandmother asked me to do some lineage research, and I’m stuck on Hiram Hickok… I know his father was born in New Hampshire, probably in the 1820s (ish)… and that’s it! I’m wondering if you have any records from Laura… letters from family, or mention of a paternal grand father. I’m trying to find the “Wild Bill” connection for my Gram… she’s never figured it out. Any info would help! Thanks, Cass

Absolutely wonderful!!! I am a young Cattlewoman and have been more than proud to share my story with any number of people… The story of pride and ownership that we all take in our livelihood/business/lifestyle :) It makes my heart warm to see others expressing their love for a lifestyle I so strongly support.

I’m impressed….you are “wonder woman” You never cease to amaze me. The website looks incredible. If you want a picture of some “city bread” made by your Aunt Mary, just let me know! It should sufficiently convince people to live on the ranch!
