It Was Magic…and the 70′s
It was 1972 in a small sleepy Oklahoma town. News traveled fast in our small school…a new family was moving to town. Excitement would build as we awaited the arrival of four new students who would arrive soon after Christmas break. I was especially interested in the athlete who could pole vault ( I wasn’t sure what that was- remember this was a rural town in the 70′s) but it sounded intriguing. It was circulating that he was also a great football and basketball player.
All I can say is that I had to fight pretty hard to get him because all the girls in town were after him.
That was 38 years…
Three kids…
Then…
Four
30 dogs, 20 ducks, 13 geese 5 raccoons, 12 show heifers, 3 hamsters, 9 show lambs, 5 show horses, 6 show pigs, cats too numerous to mention……
It certainly hasn’t always been bliss. We’ve had our problems-still do, but so far we’ve weathered them and so far what hasn’t killed us has made us stronger.
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3
